A Solo Traveler's Guide to the Enchanting Island of Ischia

In the midst of a spontaneous solo journey along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, I found myself captivated by the timeless charm of Italy. Exploring the peaceful coastal town of Meta, wandering through the lively streets of Sorrento, and gazing at the cliffs of Positano, every moment was an immersion into the unparalleled beauty and cultural richness of this Mediterranean haven.

Venturing out during the off-season, when coastal villages were in a tranquil slumber and a handful of eateries and boutiques bravely stayed open, the experience was a testament to the allure of Italy that transcends the bounds of time and season. My breath was continually taken away by the landscapes, I received warm greetings from locals, and I enjoyed delicious and authentic Italian food. The idle state of the Amalfi Coast during my off-peak trip made the journey incredibly peaceful, and one I will never forget.

As I was reflecting on this impromptu getaway, I began thinking about returning to Italy in summer as a solo female traveler, and what I would do this time around. A new destination came to mind- the island of Ischia. This enchanting place, with its volcanic landscapes, beautiful beaches, and soothing hot springs, stands as a hidden gem in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
